Board Game Bank is a money tracker for board games. This page explains what the app and the service at boardgamebank.com store, why, and how to get rid of it. We keep it short because we keep little.
Who is responsible
The service is operated by LMSCloud, a sole trader registered in Australia (ABN 36 911 809 303). Contact: support@boardgamebank.com.
Using the app without an account
You can use the app without signing in. Games you run this way are stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
What we store when you sign in
- Account: your email address, or the identity a social login provider (Google, Apple, Facebook) shares with us, which is an identifier and usually your email. We do not receive your password from those providers. Accounts are managed by Amazon Cognito.
- Games: the game name, rules, player names, colours and icons as you entered them, balances, and the transaction log with timestamps. Games you ran offline are uploaded when you sign in.
- Share codes: random codes that let other players follow a game. Anyone with a code can read that game's balances and log until the game is deleted.
- Technical logs: request logs on our servers (time, path, response code, error messages) kept for a short period to keep the service working.
Player names are whatever the moderator typed. Please use first names or nicknames and tell your fellow players that the game is being shared.
What we do not do
- No advertising, no ad networks, no tracking pixels, no analytics SDKs.
- We do not sell or share your data with third parties, except the infrastructure providers below.
- We do not read your contacts, location or photos. The camera is used only while you scan a QR code, and images are not stored.
Where the data lives
On Amazon Web Services in the European Union (Ireland region). Amazon acts as our processor. Login pages are served through Amazon's content delivery network.
How long we keep it
- Active games: until you delete them.
- Finished games: deleted automatically 90 days after they were finished, unless you delete them earlier.
- Your account: until you delete it. See Delete account.
- Technical logs: a few weeks.
Your rights
You can see all your data in the app. You can correct player names and rules at any time. You can delete any game, or your whole account, from the app or by writing to us. If you are not happy with how we handled your data, write to us first; you can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or, if you are in the EU or UK, to your local data protection authority.
Children
The app is meant for families and friends playing together. Accounts are for adults. A child can follow a game with a share code without an account; that shows only the game data the moderator entered.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app and on this page, with a new date at the top.
